This is Tropical Storm Ernesto when it was headed straight for Jamaica. After this it made a turn and went for Cuba... then to South Florida.
As to be expected there was a huge scramble for gas, water and other hurricane provisions. LOL... I was about to say just for a little wind and rain but I just heard a big gust outside my window... so I stand corrected... for a little rain and LOTS of wind.
I planned to come home and huddle and read to my hearts content but I guess my body had other plans for me, cause I slept and slept... and woke up at 3a. this morning wide eyed and bushy tailed and watched my recorded Big Brother all stars!! HATING ERICA right about now, but she'll get what's coming to her soon and very soon. I just wish I was a fly on the wall when they went to the house in Mexico and watched what happened.

My new best friends

Affectionately known as Voddie!!

Lycheetinis being my new drink of choice!! And unfortunately my enemy (sorry GC that I didn't make it to the party on Saturday, but you know what bonding with the best friends can do).

All weekend I've been drinking. Friday night we were to go to what has become the new hang out spot (S&B's house, but I think since we'd had our fill for the week and it had been awfully rainy out on Friday evening) everyone decided to call it a night and stayed home.

Saturday after a quick lunch at Miss Chin, I went on the road with Lisa shopping for the birthday party...but of course we had to have a drink or four. I had to call Nick for a ride home... designated driver.

Sunday, I felt like I was running around all day, because I probably was, although I got nothing accomplished for me. Matt Matt and Gabby had a very crowded birthday party, and got tons of gifts. Hope they enjoyed themselves.
All in all a fun weekend, pity I didn't get to rest much.

Catching up...

Okay... so a few weeks ago I had a terrible phone scare... someone "stole" my phone and when I called the number they kept answering but not saying anything... so out of desperation I bought a new phone... only to get back my phone a few days later and due to the company's restrictions I was not able to return the new phone... aw well. It's posted for sale... but the only people who seem to be responding are those damn scamming Nigerians!! ARGGGGGGGGHHHH!!

Last weekend, after the usual Friday night drinking @ Shauna and Bambi's.... we went to Sue's for a barbecue on Saturday... that's where I found out that a friend of ours that we thought had been long since divorced... was actually married for 20 + years without her knowledge... life's strange I tell ya. But it sure was funny to me...she, though, was not so amused.

Was Shauna's birthday on Wednesday (yesterday) so we had a small birthday party... was cool...made more plans for Friday night and the weekend.

Matt-Matt and Gabby's birthday party this weekend as well.

Big Brother 7

In past seasons I have watched, sometimes more involved than other seasons... but this year is one of those involved seasons and worse... I have company. I have managed to rope Nick into watching with me as well. Then worse, yesterday my friend calls and asks out of the blue and asks who got voted out...so you know that lead to more Big Brother conversation.

Planning and downsizing

Yesterday, Nick and I sat and looked around our apartment and realized that most of the things that we moved in there with... are no longer there. They've either been replaced, or thrown out. By no means does this mean that there is less stuff... just different stuff. I have three closets that I have been planning to downsize for ages... a storage closet, a linen closet and the walk in closet. The storage closet has comforters and plastic tubs that have been moved from place to place without it being unpacked. Need to shed and downsize it.

Homesick

I can't tell the last time I've been homesick... I mean seriously.
I had a good day today... so far... went cake tasting at Susie's with Sue, went eat with Nick and ended up at the dog park... and came home and just felt haunted... so I started playing music... and for the first time in a long time... I got homesick... tears came to my eyes... never before has this happened...that I can remember... usually I miss my mother or something... but it wasn't just that.. I was homesick.

Missed my home at Doctor's cave beach on the sand...or on the jetty.
Missed the sounds of the town... the horns blaring ( I mean I live in farrin... but I can't tell when last I tooted my horn), music, people cussing.
Missed the smells, smell of roasted peanuts, the fresh sea air, the rain smell, .
Missed the curtains in my room
Missed the way my ceiling looks in my room (I used to spend alot of time in my bed looking up at the ceiling)
Missed going to the movies in Jamaica..(the interactive crowd)
Missed my family, and the gatherings and the weddings and the birthdays
Missed being involved in my church, volunteer clubs.
Missed looking at jewellry with my Mom at the inbond stores.
Missed driving through the windy roads going to Kingston, Negril or somewhere
Missed hanging with the boys (who are now married men with kids... or at least soon to be)
