Babymama drama

So I seem to be having a slight bit of drama in my life right now. It started over a babyshower and has escalated to other areas... or so it seems... amazing. You start something out with good intentions and it ends up being everything else but...now I must admit I regret even saying anything about the shower to her in the first place. To give some perspective, this is my friends third child and in discussions, I realized that she had never had a shower given to her, as is my idea that it should be, she had always planned her own. Now in doing the planning we could have gone two routes.. one to do a surprise and invite a small group of girlfriends and have total control over everything... or to give her the option to tell us who she would like there and let her know what was going on without her being too involved in the planning. We went the route of the latter... and I was all excited that is until I heard the number of guests she wanted to be invited....125!!
What the hell?!??! I was thinking it was a shower... an intimate shower...125 is the number of a big wedding... bear in mind my wedding had a grand total of 29 people in attendance... including me, my husband, the "minister" etc. Anyhow, due to the nature of the "mother", everyone, while having objections decided to go along and see what they could do to make it happen. Which I agreed to, after of course voicing my opinion. Apparently the lesson learned from this is when it comes to pregnant mommies ... just smile and nod. Wait until after the baby is born and everything is settled to express how you feel or felt about events that happened during the pregnancy.
Update: The shower went well... not all 125 people came... I calmed down closer to the shower when I saw all the things coming together... but the drama still continued...and unfortunately all my efforts went unnoticed. Life lessons.
